Rev-Lab Quick Steering Rack

Well I am going to get a quick steering rack for at least one of my Impreza's. I searched and saw that there was going to be a group buy with HIIC, but it fell through. Has anyone ever used one of Rev-Lab's quick steering racks? I'm so sick of hearing about the EVO's 13:1 steering rack that I have to get what our cars should have come with stock. In Japan the type RA, and the Spec C, both come with 13:1 racks!

Rev-Labs makes both a 12.5:1 and a 11.5:1 steering rack. It looks like it will end up costing about 800 dollars after you mail them your old steering rack. I think this is a hell of a deal, especially since they are one of the only companies that do this for LHD Impreza's. Is anyone else out there interested in doing this? I've talked to them and they really don't do group buys, but the will give us some kind of a discount. If anone has any experience with their product please tell me what you think. This mod should really help on the track.

I'd love to do this because the huge steering ratio is the only thing that I don't like about my car...too bad I can't justify the $800

Sell the neon's and then you'll only need $799.00. This mod is so much better than a up-pipe, or anything else. I've been reading about it and it sounds great! BTW this will make your steeting better than the '05 S2k (14.9:1) and the EVO (13:1).

I beat this to death before. I would love to get one, but don't have the funds right now. Plus, I'd rather keep my rack to put back when I get rid of my car. Let me know if you really do go forward on this as I'd be interested maybe next month. Combined shipping is dirt cheap the last I checked w/ Rev Lab. I believe they can bundle 3 racks together into 1 shipment and can send it via Postal Service, rather than UPS / FED EX. The 11.5 to 1 rack is ideal for Autox / Rally as it delivers about 2.2 turns lock to lock. The 12.5 to 1 delivers 2.5 turns lock to lock, if my memory serves me correct.

Larry I saw your post when I was searching on this. I'm sorry I missed it the first time around. I am looking at ordering the one for my STI in January, so if that works for you then we can order at the same time. After reading what everyone had to say, I will go with the 11.5:1, which is supposed to be 2 turns to lock, or at least that is what I was told by rev-labs. The 12.5:1 should offer 2.25 to lock.

Oh and about being able to keep your steering rack...
From what it looks like for $600 you can order the rack from subaruparts.com so you would be out a little over $100 since they would give you $500 for the core exchange. I may do that, but I have yet to decide. I plan on trying this on one of my cars first, and then depending on what I think I'll get it on my other Impreza. I plan for this to be pretty much my last mod. I now realized that I have sunk way to much money into my car, so I'll get the steering rack and that will be it.

Nate, let me know! I'm in, as long as it's at the very end of January or during Feb. Joey / Barry, are you guys in??? How about the install. I heard it's a REAL ***** to do? I'd rather pay someone to do this since I really don't have the time to do this job.

GUYS! Let's do it! I'm definitely keeping my car, so I see this as a worth while mod. Talk to you on Sunday.

Sounds good everyone plan on placing the order at the end of January. That is my suggestion at least because it gives plenty of time to get money and prices.
