clunk noise is usually due to having the endlink on the wrong side. check your connection again since it could be rubbing and not sitting or seated correctly. you did make sure that you had the rear wheels on the floor or load on the rear suspension when you did this right?
also yes I did lube up my rear sway bar where it connects to the chasis in between the bushing that comes with the swaybar.
sorry I couldn't make it. had to take my son for his first hair cut...etc.

^^^Yes, lube the hell out of those two bushings.
Use whatever you got...WD40, motor oil, splooge...oh ok perhaps you should actually use white lithium grease...but the splooge is a lot more fun.

if it's not the rsb, rear diff lock, diff bushings...it might be your springs, it may have shifted alittle during the install or the rubber piece that's on the spring is not seated correctly....
don't mind me im just thinking of possibilities....

i don't think it's the swaybar unless it was installed incorrectly.
just to give you the benefit of the doubt on that one it could also be your struts. check the top nut on the top of the strut to make sure that ALL 4 are tight and not loose or haven't backed out. Also STI struts have been known to go out prematurely. They could have broken.

^^^WTF..... they can break? i didnt even put 1500 miles yet.
also im thinking it could also be the rear diff. locking bolts. instructions say you should use a lever to adjust the subframe before installing the bolts.

Still clunking?
Brandon,
Which swaybar did you go with?
Are you using the stock endlinks?
Here are some clunking issues I experienced.
Based on your clunking starting after you installed the sway bar...
I installed a Perrin rsb and heavy duty mounts with the Perrin rear endlinks...
After the install, I began clunking...I must have messed with the setup for a week before I decided to just put my stock endlinks back on to try it out...one of the clunking issues was the Perrin endlinks...I installed them correctly and all...I learned after, that Perrin had some issues with their spherical bearings...with the drop that I had (TEIN Flex dropped pretty low), the bearings would bind...they would try to hold, then suddenly give....letting off a popping sort of sound (clunking from inside the cabin)...I sent them back to them and all they did was loosen them up by WD-40ing them and putting two screwdrives in the holes and moving them around...it worked though...wore the bearings in...
Another issue I had was the heavy duty mounts...I had to adjust the swaybar so that it was pushed all the way forward. With the Perrin mounts, you can adjust it about an inch either forward or backward...originally, I had it set all the way back and it got a bit too close to my exhaust (B&B catback)...so I set it all the way forward...
After adjusting for both of these issues, my clunks went away...
You can do this...see if anything is binding...try to lift up on the rear bumper, then push down...it's going to be pretty tough depending on your suspension set up...this is how I discovered the endlinks were binding...there would be this point where the suspension would kind of momenarily get "stuck"...the release as I was letting it go from the lifted position...
Depending on your swaybar...make sure it is well greased where the swaybar attaches to the mounts...your swaybar may also be shifting side to side on your corners (normal) and hitting something slightly...look for any missing paint etc ...I torque my endlinks to around ~34 ftlbs...your exhaust may also be hitting the differential on the bottom...I know mine was slightly...I upgraded to Kartboy Urethane hangers to control that...
Like Jon also said above, Mark (Rally_WRX) and I did discover his clunking came from the center nut loosening on his struts...check that out for sure...
Good luck
Brent

ok isolated the popping to the passenger rear side.
removed the diff. locking bolts, tightened the pass. rear strut top and still got the f****** noise.

last night brandon finally found out what the clunking noise was....
it was just the passenger rsb bracket, it was not tighten properly.....im glad it was solved because it was bothering me as well...
