I'm pretty callous to news that I hear about most death and loss stories I see in the paper and on the TV. I figure that if you feel sympathy for all of the loss across the world, you'd have no room in your heart for happiness. Of course, I wouldn't wish the loss of a loved one on anyone.

But this story really gets to me. 3 yrs old, in sunny paradise, on Christmas day no less.

Can't even imagine losing one of my kids/grandkids. Kids should outlive their parents.

Sounds like they got a bit too close and a whale surfaced under them. There were already like 3 collisions this year and apparently its not against the law if you cant see the whales or they approach you. Another reason they really shouldnt allow children who cant stand and balance on their own on a boat, even a 100+ footer which I guess that was. But thats all aside the point, what a tragedy. I cant imagine the feelings they are going through. On holiday in beautiful Hawaii, Christmas Day with family and this happens. I got choked up reading about it in the paper.

Also got choked up reading about the brother here who lost his twin in Iraq. That one really got to me too...

All the little things we complain about in life are paled in comparison to what people are going through.

Yup its rough losing anyone younger or older. Can only try to make the best of the time you have.
