Real racing - Maui SCCA Solo 2 style.

Here's some pix of me at the races this Sunday, April 30, 2006 at our local Solo 2 races.

Had a chance to try the new shoes. Worked out real well.

Ed, congratulations on the win in SM. The car is looking great. We here on Oahu are envious that you have a facility, hope we have one established here soon.

Thanks.

Let me describe that corner where the picture was taken. It was at the end of a long straight section where I was bouncing off the rev limit in second gear. I took this turn which was a hard dog leg right hand turn essentially flat out. Let’s just say I would tap the brakes using left foot braking to make this turn and then instantly back on the gas. This is one of our fastest sections of the track.

My brake points were okay, but could’ve been better. I was finding all the brake points and apexes in my later runs.

The STi is clearly a driver’s car and needs to be driven in such a manner.

It needs to be grabbed by the neck, slapped around, and generally beaten like the dirty girl it really is.

I've only ridden in one STi (Ditchhanger's old car)...but holy bajeebuz was it fun. Wish I had the greenbacks to get one!

yup. that is the way it needs to be driven......but also on 275's. i wish they made those when i raced mine... little 245 700's didn't grip even close to enough.
