quieter exhaust

i'm looking for an exhaust that isn't as loud as my current one. i'm currently running a helix up/down pipe and a blitz nur spec (catback)... i gave up on the silencer it rattles too much. i don't want to put the stock exhaust back on... i just want a little rumble. i guess i'm getting old or something... opinions?

Borla Hush

cops have glanced at the car while idling, and just moved on

Also look into the Greddy SP2, I think it's a little louder than the Borla Hush. Cops have never hassled me with it so far. *knocks on wood*

I had a Blitz Nur Spec axle-back before I got the SP2. Honestly, I regret selling my Nur Spec, which imho is THE best sounding exhaust ever for a Suby.

You can always get a resonator thrown on...

That method will tame your Nur Spec a bit...otherwise, I've heard some pretty nice, mellow sounding exhausts...

Shiroikage has the RS*R but not the loud model...you can pm him for the model...sounds nice and mellow (think it is called the Ex-MAG, from Yamatodamashii's for sale thread)...I think Vakamon has them...

Heard the Greddy EVO2 and SP2...both are pretty quiet

I have the Cobb that is resonated...very quiet...the normal Cobb isn't resonated and sounds just a bit louder...I really like the way the Cobb sounds.

APS 3" TBE is not very loud at all...looks similar to the Cobb...nice...I personally like APS exhaust systems...I have the 3.5" TBE with the Cobb axleback portion mated to it...

and as mentioned above...the Borla Hush...

If you get a catted dp, it will also quiet down your exhaust quite a bit...

Out of the exhausts mentioned above, it will boil down to what look you want...all sound great.

Borla Hush is the quietest of the "name brand" exhausts bar none...still has some rumble and looks stock.

Greddy Evo is a small bit louder and to me looks better (I had one on the WRX before I sold it ). It also has superior fitment compared to most other exhausts (it clears everything and never scraped on my lowered WRX.

All others I don't know about...but I can say that my FAVORITE exhaust is the Espelir JGT 500...best sounding out of all of the ones I've heard (which is quite a lot).

+1 for the Borla Hush. Great catback system and it doesn't hurt the down-low torque too much and feels good up high. IMO, it performed better than when I had a Nur-Spec on.

+1 for Fujitsubo...

The Fujitsubo slipped my mind...

If I didn't have my APS right now, that is the exhaust that would be on my car right now...

Either the Power Getter or the RMA-01....nice exhausts (two resonators) and low restriction...
