PS2 owners

Wassup everyone,

Since the modding of my real car is slow going at the moment, I picked up Auto Modellista for the PS2. I get to mod my car without a budget. =) The game is fun, not as detailed as GT3 when it comes to setting up your car, but fun none the less. I can't wait to get the car modded up, so I can play online.

Anyone else thinking of picking up this game?

I picked that game up in Australia a couple monthes ago. Dont waste your money Its cool for about 15 minutes, then gets boring as sh*t. The mods have no effect on your cars performance, and the racing gets extremely repetitive. I'd highly recommend you pick up Gran Turismo: Concept They actually improved upon Gran Turismo 3 and the variety of new cars is incredible. Anyway, just my .02 cents...

Hmm... thanks for the info.

I just started playing it, I haven't really gotten that far into the game yet. I guess I as I get further into it, I'll see where the game lacks. As for GT:C, waiting for it to be released in the US.

I dont think Gran Turismo:Concept is going to be released in the states. Just go over to Toys & Joys and pick up a japanese copy of the game, and get a modchip for your ps2. The Japanese version has the option of English or Japanese text, which is weird.

Auto Modellista for the U.S. is different than, and supposed to be better than, the Japan/European version of the game. With American car additions, and "better" driving feel.

I dont know how well then can improve it, sounds like an advertising gimmick to me. And I personally prefer the JDM versions of all the cars, as opposed to the American version they will have in the US copy of the game.

I picked my copy up on wed. Though I haven't played the japanese version, (which I did hear bad reviews about), the american version seems pretty fun... The mods work okay, but sometimes make your car too fast, changing the settings on suspension and brakes also helps... I just wish I had broadband so I could play with 8 other people like it advertises...

The driving feel is okay, but takes a little getting used to, Powerslides and drifts seem to die out if you get too sideways and the cars will bog if you go too far, otherwise it controls pretty well, Now granted this is not gran turismo, but I think that they went with a more arcade feel with it, as well as the cell shaded graphics are pretty cool.

Besides, you get to add all the ricey and JDM aftermarket parts without having to buy them.

I gots me a GC8, silver w/blk hood, rally wing, cusco body kit, a big SCCA decal just like on the real car and to top it all off, some gold OZ superturismos... Only in the mornin...

Talking

Just picked up the game this past Saturday. It's not the same as Gran Turismo, but still very entertaining. Got me a white GDB with white Advan three spokes sporting over 500 horses. Car control is kinda weird, so it's not meant to be a real driving simulator like GT. I wish you could hold powerslides longer, but it's still fun. If you like Initial D type of racing (touge) it's really fun. Graphically, I like it. The cell shaded cars as well as the effects are very "anime" like. I give the game a whole-hearted "thumbs-UP" and a must buy for racing fans.

I have had the game for a little over a week, its not Gran Turismo, but its still fun.

Dammit, I can't race my Vitz RS w/ a 2JZ-GTE motor swap. 276hp.

This has to be my favorite car to race. =)

Hey dude, the Navy transferred me to beautiful (yea right) Norfolk, Virginia. I'm on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, its currently in the yards for a nuclear refueling and wont be seeing any sea time until 2006. So I'm chillin, they got me staying on a army base, thats interesting. These army guys need to calm down, they're hard core. So I'm trying to get settled into a new command/area, get 2 broken wheel bearings fixed, find the local i-clubbers and get my clutch/flywheel/crank pulley installed. And thats about it, whats up with you
