Project EJ18T gets broken into
#17
I've seen where you park (my friend lives in the area), assuming you still live the same place. But I wouldn't trust parking that car around there. There's like MILLIONS of cars parked all along the streets and car alarms going off over some sensitive noise. I gotta say rolling through it seems like a shady neighborhood at night. Sorry though you had to be a victim of whoever is going around doing that dumb ****. Whoever did it will eventually get theirs for sure.

Roflmao at all your funny comments and thanks for the pick-me-ups. But let me know when you come across a black gas mask anywhere on craigslist, classifieds, or the paintball ranges. Believe me, he'll be in for a rude awakening.

Where I live, they break into cars whether or not you have an alarm. Like I said, if they want something in there really bad they'll make it happen. Last week, an SUV got hit the same way, he had an alarm as well. It has to be someone from the area though. I see alot of potential for burglars here.

He actually made some good comments about the car. I was expecting him to ask for recon like every other cop. He surprisingly liked what I built, but that was it. Not only will I cut their thumbs, I'll stick them up their a$$es so high that they'll spit it out of their mouths.

It's not the car. Cops don't bother with break ins because there's no money in it for them. They'd rather write a half dozen speeding tickets at $200 a pop than spend a no money day trying to track down some kids that are just going to walk anyway. I'll bet he didn't even dust that window for prints. The perps most likely left a perfect set when they broke it off. And, with all the "safe kid" programs put in place over the past decade I'd guarantee those prints are on file somewhere. Fnckin thieves just need to go visit the fishes for a while.
FWIW the common thread I see in nearly every auto break in is something interesting left in the car, in view. In my GF's case it was her cell phone. In some tourons case it was her purse. In your case I bet they say the gas mask case and thought it looked like it was worth something. The sub and other stuff was likely an afterthought. When my truck got broken into they only stole the stereo head. That's a little wired since it didn't look like anything special. I think it was cause my dad was blasting Pavarotti driving through the parking lot and got someone's attention. Fortunately the sub and amp were out of sight and bolted in with Torx.
So, while I firmly believe that the death penalty is entirely appropriate for thieves of any ilk, until we get that never leave anything in your car. I'm glad they didn't do any engine or body damage. And you're back on the road.
