Cedric won again with his low 11 second street supra! There were I think 4 - 11 second cars, and 4 - 12 second cars in the field. 2 supras, 2 civics, 1 240sx, 1 3000gt, 1 STi (me), 1 S4(raudi) = 8 total, from 11.2 sec (top qualifier) to 12.7 (#8).

I made it with a 12.59 @ 107.4 mph w/ a 1.65 - 60 foot time, #7 qualifier. I beat the #3 qualifier to the finish line by .15 seconds in the 1st round, but thats because I had to pull a hole shot but I did it too early ....a red light! Ran a 12.60 with an unbelievable 1.50 60ft time....had to let off the throttle since my check engine light came on in 4th gear, didnt wanna damage the engine so I eased off the throttle to the finish, I probably wouldve ran a 12.4xx?. It was a cool 68-69 degree night w/ gusty winds 20-35mph HEADWIND! Looks like I gotta update again

Just curious, I had an Xede once, how does your tune look? How much advance do you run throughout the rpm loads along with your boost? Afrs? Also, does the Xede now control AVCS?
Sorry to ask so much questions, I had no success when I had the Xede. Damn PE injectors were a pita.
Shoots!

From: Ewa Beach, Hawaii...Current Best Time: 12.59 @ 107.48mph (108.47 best mph) in Hawaiis humid weather! w/ stock turbo&intercooler
Car Info: 2004 STi.....stock turbo/intercooler/cat-back, aftermarket intake/downpipe/piggyback
Well, my tune is basically the off the shelf base maps posted in the vishnu website. I really havent played with the tuning too much at all! It looks like the ECU does not like too much timing over stock when running more boost actually it triggers a check engine light when I tried to advance it by 1 degree over stock - high exhaust gas temp. Yep the ECU is sensitive alright, its very picky! AVCS? not sure what u mean...Anyway, make sure to get your monster suby ready for the next shootout in November, and run some 11 second slips!

Do you have an EGT gauge?
Will Vishnu buy you a new engine if yours conks out?
AVCS click here
Essentially, it's a way of varying your cam lift and duration once your engine reaches a certain speed.

Yo JT-STI,
I agree with Pat's concern. The STi has a stout motor, but the pistons don't take det. too well. Hopefully, the cel was for something else.
In the past, Vishnu wasn't known for posting overly aggressive maps on their site. Although, I haven't been tracking their maps since selling my Xede a while back. Maybe they've gotten aggressive? *shrugs*
Are you playing with the boost at all? If you're raising boost, at least pull some timing if you have no means of viewing your afr and knock events.
Det and high cylinder pressure is what destroys motors. Boost and timing advance both raise cylinder pressure.
A wideband is a small investment compared to replacing a blown motor.
Best of luck!
