Just so you know, there's like a year wait for parking in the lot. If you get here before 7 A.M. there's street parking, or you can take your chances at Kmart. In the beginning, Kmart was cool, they told us that we can park there as long as we stick to the stalls near the street (farthest away from the store) as those were the ones that were open anyway. Sometime last year, however, Kmart reversed itself and started putting up notices that they would tow non-customer cars that parked in their lot.

Something to keep in mind should you try and transfer out here...

 

At least it's not as bad as it is here. There is no parking for DOH in Kaimuki(Diamond Head side). I pretty much walk to work.

At least I save gas for a 15min walk. 3700 miles on a 11month old car + 70/month in gas ftw.

 

yeah i heard the waitlist is long...its like that for all state parking i think. lucky i have free parking here although ive gotten quite a few door dings...cant pinpoint if i got it here or not...im not that observant

speaking of makaha how is it out there these days? I kinda wanna take my wife out there and show her where I grew up and the beaches and stuff but don't wanna scare her... Haha should we take her car and leave the suby at home?

 

still alot of moke drivers. but, id recommend going during the weekdays in the "at-work" hours. super geez and no nanakuli traffic unlesss a water main breaks on some construction project.
