sorry guys army lingo.....smoke means to have one doing exercises for long period of time while another watches over telling that person how many/what type to do. not very legal nowadays but there is always the alternative of UCMJ action (article15) basically money and time being taken away. most soldiers will take the smoking then losing money/time.
