I got it from Shaggy down at the dealer.
I'm trying to fix up some of the kinks on it like the steering rack and the side view mirror rattle.
But in the meantime, I just got some JDM front corners and tail lights that need installing.
I heard the tail lights are quite irritating to do. I just got some goo-gone and weather sealant today.
BTW... you guys know what kind of bulbs the turn signals use on the GC8? Or... does anyone have the stock amber covers?
Mine blink white and I gotta go get a safety check soon.
Other than that, I swapped the old head unit out with a double DIN touch screen LCD and a new tint job so far.
Waiting on some other stuff like Prodrive GC-05F 17x8, yokohama advan neova, wheel locks, new fuel filter, momo shift ****, oem cf pattern trim.
Gotta go and roll the fenders out too later on since the tires are 245/40/17.
Looking for some other things too like new pedals and a shifter boot.
Possibly... a Momo WRX steering wheel too.

lol thats my old car. whats wrong with the rack? the rattle is because they are jdm folding mirrors and they don't fit 100%. try tightening the screws on the bottom side a litle and should go away. anything you wanna know about it just ask me.

But yea.. I'm not 100% sure it's the rack right now, but the steering is a bit funny.
Like when you turn the wheel, it would be real tight in some instances and then suddenly turn loose, then tight again.
Sometimes, it makes it scary to drive quick. lol.
I checked the power steering fluid and it's not low...
I gotta have someone take a look at it when I get some free time later.
That... and like about 20% of the time, when I push in the clutch, it'd make this squeaking noise. Mostly happens at cold start. Any clue what that is?
Lastly, the tranny... when I put it into reverse, even with the car fully stopped and the clutch pressed all the way in, sometimes, it sounds like the gears are grinding. This happens about 20% of the time too and not necessarily at cold start only.
Any clue what this is too?
Other than that... AWD is pretty neat.

The only other AWD cars I've ever driven were a BNR32 Skyline GT-R, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and a CT9A Evolution IX... all with only like 15 minutes of seat time only.

k first the rack problem is new to me. never had any trouble with it, except when i had my quickrack in there but thats a different story.
squeeking from the clutch was always there. you can fix it pretty easily but i just never got around to it, kinda lazy sometimes.
the reverse thing is COMPLETELY normal for a subaru, especially one with a short shifter, it does still have the short shifter right?
one thing you also gotta watch out for on cold start is the clutch shudder. feels like the car is a bucking bull for the first mile or so and only from a dead stop or a slow roll. when i traded it in the car was mechanically sound and only had some exterior problems.

But, yea... I do notice that clutch shudder too on cold start. It's fine after a few min of driving though.
But, the car does not have the short shifter anymore.
Stock shifter.
I was checking it out and the throw felt way too short for me.
Being a beginner MT driver (my other car is a sequential manual), I was worried about mis-shifting into the wrong gear.
I just swapped his stock one with my COBB.
Now that I think of it, I learned MT pretty quick and am getting used to it now... Maybe I should've kept it. lol.

dude!! thats was kinda dumb but oh well. i still have the stock shifter and i would have given it to you. the cobb is adjustable so you could have just moved it up untill you got the hang of it and then dropped it down for shorter throw. don't get rid of anything else till i talk to you on sat.
