pictures of the downpipe fix

so i went down to vakamon today to go borrow the CEL fix from ryan again so i could try and helplessly find a correct fitting closure...

when i got there he said he had something for me and so kindly let me have a bolt that would fit.. and he gave me a sample of some gunk stuff that will supposedly is good for the thread of the bolt.. big thanks to Ryan at Vakamon once again..

here are the pictures i took

the CEL fix from MY downpipe.. notice the arrow pointing to a washer which i wasnt sure was supposed to be there... know anything Hoppie?

a picture of the washer that was on the CEL fix

the tip of the O2 sensor that ended up dangling and dragging all over the place.. if you look closely you can see the JB quik weld me and justin attempted

after removing both the sensor and the CEL fix

the bolt that is now on the downpipe.. tightened as tight as possible... and hopefully doesnt come off on me during driving..

turned on the car and checked everything... and seems fine..

thanks again to Ryan and Justin for their help

That "gunk" is either Anti-Seize or Loctite

or some of Ryan's Man Juice

Well that is good that you plugged the hole in your DP, but it is dangerous if your ECU is using that 02 sensor to adjust it's timing advance, and A/F ratio, which I believe it is. I think you have 2 02 sensors, 1 pre-turbo, one post turbo. I would order a new 02 sensor asap. You could be running lean and your car might not richen the fuel up if it can't tell what's going on. Lots of people just put resistors on their 02 plug, so I guess you could do that too. I haven't heard of anyone blowing their engine due to removing the 02 signal to the ECU, but talk to Ryan about it, he knows a lot more than I do.

Its ok Nate, people put mechanical O2 cel fixes there other than the resisters. That O2 is just there to measure Cat efficency. The one in the collecter is the one you have to really worry about.

Thanks, that's good to know. So you can just put a resistor in there to keep from getting the cel!

Talk to Ryan, but most electronic stores should have them. I think radio shack has them.

Mechnical fix is cheaper... but requires slight modification. Happy mod-ing.
