Well there are variations, but in general its something like this:

Wash
Clay
Polish (amount dependent on condition)
-Deep polish (if needed, swirl/oxidation/scratch/etc removal)
-Final polish (remove any hazing/light swirls and prep for LSP)
Paint prep
LSP (waxes, sealants or combination of sealant topped w/carnauba)

The polishing depends on paint condition and isnt always required. Wash/clay/last step product (wax & sealants are LSPs) would be the bare minimum but you really should include some form of paint prep in between the clay and LSP. This would include products like Klasse AIO, P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion, some glazes, maybe cleaner waxes, and pure final polishes.

The paint prep may seem like wasted time but it can make a difference in the look and often provides the biggest difference in durability do to improved adhesion. All of the high end sealants and waxes recommend this step. Over the counter products like NXT get away without this step because they have some cleaning and filling abilities.....but are less durable and cant be layered.
