I used to live at West Loch Fairways and it was not that bad. Plus we had Old Ft. Weaver road to take too. So living at WLE is NOTHING compared to living in Ewa by Gentry, Ocean Pointe, etc. That area is much more convenient too because you are close to the hwy and waipahu.
Watch out though; both areas are prone to burglaries and vehicle break ins. My house got broken into once. I was at the light when I got the call that the alarm went off. Someone would have gotten a beat down had I come home sooner.

yea, kunia side has its share of stolen vehicles....
my friends weed wacker got stolen off his front door at west loch.
traffic in kunia is usually good unless there are heavy rains combined with accidents. like OhWheelie_808 said, traffic starts on the freeway or at the on-ramp.

i use to live in Royal Kunia, I wasn't to happy with the area considering all the car thefts to include my old civic. but then again i think oahu has a serious car theft problem. as for your question on the traffic, unless your going to Schofield on Kunia road its not that bad till you get about a 1/2 mile or so from the first gate. but this is at 0500-0630 in the morning. good luck on your choice.

Consider Windward side?
Living in Kaneohe, although on the other side of the mountains has been very good. For one, we have 5 major ways to get to town...really 4 (Going around North Shore to get to town is kinda dumb), but never the less, it's available...
for you Brandon, getting to work from Kaneohe to your work place would take you a whole 15min on H3...take you right there. I leave for work around 4:30am everymorning...no traffic at all...even when I leave at 6am, I get to Ala Moana from my house in about 30min.
I guess the bottle neck would be when you got off H3 onto H1 to get to Nimitz...not sure how bad that is as I don't go to work on that route...but even if you took Likelike and avoided H1 altogether...you would get to work in about 25min...
We considered moving toward that side as you get way more bang for your buck on houses, but we ultimately decided on the Windward side...as there is much preservation land on this side, not allowing any sizable development to occur...so, as Hawaii Kai, Ewa, and Mililani continue to develop and incurr more traffic, the Windward side stays very stable traffic wise...just something to think about...

i live in kunia and if you wanna miss that traffic just be on the freeway by 530 and your all good. As for living around here for over 10 years, I haven't heard a lot about car thefts but a few and also heard about homes broken into. I guess this happens everywhere once in a while though.
