OT: how do you eat shrimp?

i was talking to some people the other day about the shrimp in the north shore. they were telling me how they, and people they know eat shrimp with the shell still on - soooo, today i went up to north shore and got me some scrimps Normally i de-shell them, but today i ate some with the shell and feet, some with just the shells, and some de-shelled. i kinda liked them with the shell on, sans feet.

is that weird? or do most people eat them with shells?

just askin'

only when prepared that way i eat it with the shells, because when you de-shell it, it takes too much damn time and some of the shrimp actually comes of while de-shelling it and i want my money's worth so yeah....

Tastes better if you don't de-shell it by hand. It you must, do like me and pop the whole shrimp in there, split the shell with your tongue, peel it off with your tongue (getting all the flavor in the process), spit out the shell, chew off the legs, spit'em out, bite off the tail halfway and suck out the shrimp meat, spit the tail, then chew the shrimp and enjoy.

Alternate tactic is to leave the feet on 'cuz they taste good (they're usually pretty light and crunchy and full of flavor is prepped right!)

Or if the shell is thin enough or light n crispy enough, eat the damn thang!

If I eat at a Chinese restaurant I eat em shell and all cuz that's where the flavor is. Basically if it's cooked with the shell on, then I eat the shell.

This thread made me throw up in my mouth a little.

I don't eat much that comes out of the ocean, especially scrumps and lobs. They're just sea roaches to me.

I wish I liked seafood and didn't think it was gross. Everybody seems to love it so much and be willing to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Shell and all...hmmm

I did buy the Garlic Shrimp from one of those wagons by Kahuku side...it was a pain to peal it all...never bought it after that...

But now, I find out you guys eat it shell and all...I've never done that before...coming from Alaska, it doesn't matter what size the shrimp, we all shell the little critters...

I guess I will have to try your guys method...interesting
