Online reg open for SCCA Road Rally, Sunday, 3-23-14
Hello I-Clubbers,
Here's a chance for club members to compete in a SCCA sanctioned Road Rally. This Road Rally is basically a car cruise with other enthusiasts with scoring based on navigation skills and participants powers of observation. The route promises some scenic roads and quality time spent with other car folks. Each car entered needs a driver and navigator.

Cost is $20 total for each car/team, driver and navigator need to have Regular or Weekend SCCA membership, $15 for weekend membership. The folks that designed and safety certified it say it takes about 1.5 hours.
Get signed up for this unique and fun experience.

I understand the start is on Tantalus and finish is near Pearl Harbor. This is like a car cruise on open public roads. Competitors must follow all traffic laws and speed limits. The competition is based on navigation and observation skills.
SCCA does these kind of events all across the U.S. They even have a National Points Championship.
I hope you can make it, Avery

Question
Im gonna register now, just need little clarifications. so what im paying is $20 fee + $15/each for me(driver) and navigator? So... Total paying is $35(reg fee +driver and navi) or $50(reg fee of $20 and $15/each driver & navi)
Thanks!

I hear the route is scenic and a good drive, it's a chance to hang out with other car folks and I'm told there are some cool prizes like car detailing kits, t-shirts, license plate frames, etc.

Here's an update taken from the Forums Hawaii SCCA site:
Various sponsors have donated prizes for Road Rally winners, and we will also raffle some of the prizes for all participants too! Sign up and participate to win:
Detailing kits from PakShak
Service package from Tony Nissan
SCCA Hawaii certificate for 1 free Rallycross event with rally car provided
Limited "I'd Rather Be Rallycrossing!" license plate frames
Limited Rallycross t-shirts
If we have 5 or more Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S participating in Road Rally, the top winner in their group will win a FR-S RC car :woot:
We are also going to approach Servco Subaru for some goodies as well. I hope you folks can make it. I'll either be in my Miata or GC/WRX swap, it really depends on which club has better participation.

Thanks to all who participated, organized, volunteered, and donated funds and prizes. This weekend wraps up our Inaugural Joint Event with Arctic Alaska Region. We have already started planning on the next Joint Event and other adventures.
Thanks again, still smiling from ear-to-ear, Avery
