The '06 has all kinds of air dams and stabilty pieces added to the car. It also has a new center diff. It has a few other new things, but I don't specificly remember them. The rumor is the STi's have forged pistons. I am going to ask the SOA guys today to find out for sure. The WRX has the 2.5 w/ AVCS, RED subaru 4 / 2 pots, but still has the R160 rear diff. So I will be interested to see if they changed the wheel hubs so those 2 pots could be used on the R160. They were made to work on the R180 only. Of course now both front and rear rotors are vented. The WRX is getting the crappy forester xt intercooler. The WRX doesn't have a single one of the underbody spoilers the STi does. There may have been a gearing change in the tranny, but I couldn't get a confirmation on it. Oh yeah no cat in the up pipe in the WRX either, or the FXT. There's other stuff I'm forgeting, but that is the jist of it. I am leaving in 20 minutes for day 2. GPATMAC will be there, and I get another ride w/ Solberg!!!!

That is some seriously cool ****. Riding with Solberg must be pretty awesome. I've ridden with some US rally drivers in the snow ( www.teamoneil.com ), and got a ride with Michael Galati (2001 and 2002 Speed GT champion) in my sister's WRX at Summit Point Raceway. Both experiences were sweet.
The '06 snout isn't too bad, certainly better than it is on the ugly-as-sin Tribeca. I think the WRX actually looks somewhat Saab 9-2X-ish in that front shot. I like the new WRX wheels, very sharp looking.
As much as the Subaru stuff is cool, what was the story on the Caddy CTS-V racer?
Ask Petter to give you a ride in that thing!

I might try for a ride in that today. Cadilac's race team is at this event. Petter will only drive the STi, but there are about 10 other cars out there that you can get rides in if you signed up for them. I am going to try to sneak a ride in something else.

There is a lot of fact and discussion about the specifics of the '06 product line here:

Very possibly it will have forged pistons but hyper rods.

Solberg is a REALLY cool guy. He did donuts right infront of the crowd with a McLaren F1GTR infront of him. I got a picture with Solberg and talked the the Subaru WRC team manager. It was awesome. The team manager called Petter over to us so we could take a picture with him. The team manager told me that they travel 260 days a year!!! I rode with Andy Pilgrim in the CTS-V GT car and blasted by the McLaren SLR. Words cannot describe the experience of riding in a race car.
OMFG that is the coolest!! Nate and Pat and all the INDY guys i am jealous right now. that looked like soo much fun!! thanks for posting. have fun 2day on day 2!! BTW i don't care what anyone really has to say about the 2006 models, they are the best yet of the new age impretzahhs
and i don't care what the grill looks like, i'd still rock this car, it's the all go no show syndrome for me that does it. go subaru for 2006.

Those things are good and all, but not Petter Solberg good.
