Ok someone tell me all they know about the....
....1998 Lexus SC400
I know it's got a 290-hp, 4.0-liter V-8 w/ 5-speed automatic & it's a little over weight with a Curb weight of 3,655 lbs.
Can't you drop 2JZ's & the 6-speed in these?
What's it's JDM name...Toyota Soarer right ?
Mod's?

I also know that the SC300 uses the same 6 as the Supra, sans turbo.
I also know that SCs in manuals are pretty rare.
I also know that you can get one of these SCs for less than 10K
I also know that for the price of a used SC with a full conversion (motor, trans (if needed), etc.) will still be below buying a used Supra turbo.
Go for it DAN!!! do it!!!

HEAVY car. Nice. BIG doors. Posh interior. The 2JZGE is far more different than the 2JZ-GTE (turbo) than I would like. That's considering I have one in my IS300.
A 2JZGTE swap requires a complete drivetrain (complete engine, transmission, rearend [if you want it to live], and stand alone engine management) and a lot of time.
It would be a great car to have as is to cruise the highways.
Turning it into a "gentlemen's supra" is the way a lot of younger guys get into these cars and very few of them ever get completed.
I'd buy one, drop it, throw big deep dish rims on it, an exhaust, maybe a nitrous kit, and just keep it shiny and armor alled.

get a sc300 instead it's cheaper and little easier...sc300 comes with a 2JZ-GE (non turbo) engine...you can drop in a 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo engine) alot of people make it a single turbo. i was going to do that, it's alot of work. i guess it depends if you want it manual or automatic. check with toysport in cal, they did a whole bunch of engine swaps.

Actually, one of my ex-friends (emphasis on ex because he's a little punk that still needs his azz whooped and he slanged some you know what) had one (his daddy bought it).
+1 to Rich's commentary...very nice car...great cruiser...great quality...very long though and would be a whole bunch of work to get it to perform.

I'd like use something RWD and at lest has a I-6 or V6.
Any Ideas?

I'd go Amurrican, but that's just me. It wouldn't take much to get a Z28 SS or a Cobra up in the 170mph range, if not more. The Camaro probably has the better high end stability, but that's just based on how they look.
A C4 Vette would also be very capable, but would cost a bit more to get into.
