Thanks everyone! I am excited about this project as well. This did turn out (I wouldn't say it's a good thing but...) better than I expected it to.
I will be fitting the STI dash into the GC. Therefore the gauges won't be an issue. If it don't fit I will make it. I'm expecting suspension replacement. But so far the big issue is making sure the engine is OK. That will be the first step to all this.

When you put the GDA dash in the GC, no matter what it sits a little higher than the CG dash did. You will have an extra strip that you can see through the front window that I think looks bad. I am selling my RS for $5k Shaggy. Brandy I those are pics that Steve at Aeroism research took. He is the master on doing the dash swap, so you probably want to talk to him. Did you get my PM? BTW, how'd you get to be a VIP member?

He can reuse the gauges with the stock RS interior buy just getting the Defi GC guage pod. If you find an RS Brandy or you want mine, I know someone who needs the dash from the RS, if you are not going to use it.

The engine and tranny came out today. One of the camshaft gears is smashed, but hopefully the camshaft itself is ok.

whew! I'm in the same boat as you more or less. My trans is still in the car but my engine's pretty much put back together but still sitting on the engine stand. If you run into any difficulty, let me know. Are you doing it mainly yourself or do you have someone like BHR@Vakamon helping you out?

Vakamon is going to be doing the hard part of getting the engine and wiring harness moved over. I'd love to do this myself but don't have the space to do anything this complex where I live.
