Non-car related topic

Ok, I have friend flying in for a vacation here and one of her friends, really wants to go to a luau. So that means I am being dragged into going to the luau (she really wants the touristy stuff). Even though I have lived most of my life here in Hawaii, I have never been to one of those 'touristy' luau's. I have not clue as to where to go. I figrued ask you guys and see if you have any suggestions.

I am thinking just pick up some Hawaiian food plates, and just write the word luau on them, and just tell them its a luau in a box. =)

Paradise Cove??? Do I have that right?

Anyhow, I thought they had the hottest dancers, and I think that the hosts/owners are more into exploiting their dancers than at the Hale Koa luau. There was a girl there who could shake it faster than I thought possible.

Also, Paradise Cove had no limit on their returns to their buffet.

Actually being on a beach made Paradise Cove seem more legit, too.

just buy some plates from Ono's and take them to waikiki. close enough to a luau plus i think a couple of the hotels have hula dances by the beach. if you want to make it realisitic start a bon fire and call it an imu.

if you want to spend the money you can head out to paradise cove. been there a couple of times with visitors from japan.

I'll look into Germaine's luau.

I still like my idea of just getting some Hawaiian plates, and also Brento's suggestion of starting the bon fire in Waikiki, that would be hilarious. That's until HPD show's up.

At least I'll get a few days off work and be playing tour guide. Which for me is cool, since I'll get drive around. Oh and I'll take them up Tantalus.. hahahahaha.

Me being tour guide:
"And to our right is KPT, there are walking tours available.."

And also there will be the going to the beach (I haven't been to beach in years, I am pale. So if any of you notice something like a blinding flash of light, that's probably me at the beach), and the dreaded shopping.
