this might be a "blind" statement . . . but wouldn't EFI be a little too "effecient"(conservative) for that set-up? personally if i had that setup i would go with a "nuts and bolts" setup versus EFI. . . i dunno i'm not that inclined- my only "hot-rod" experience is my mustang. unless he could used a EFI system from a vette.
