dayum. i told my self i wasn't gonna buy it, but i have low self restraint, so i got one.
it is very trick. so far i played metroid (demo) and it is cool. for you first person shooter types, this is awesome. the bottom screen is a touch screen that operates as a mouse so you can point/look anywhere witht he sliding of your finger. pretty nuts.
also, messed with the picto chat and it seems pretty good and works well.
NOTE: it has built in wireless, so you can play against others within a 30-65 foot range. imagine the thursday night MEATS. oh yeah, games like super mario only requires that one person have the game, other perople just need the system and can download wirelessly the needed data to join in and play. how awesome is that.

Sounds awesome! how much did you get it for? does it use the cartridges like GBA and SP, or does it have it's own type of cartridges? How's battery life?

That's how Nintendo got me last time, I buy the GB Adv. when it first comes out, then later they release a black one. So I buy that one too!

it was 149.99 for the DS @ gamestop ala moana. was there around 1pm today. they had almost half their stock left. i wasn't on any list.
it comes with a free demo metroid game that has multiplayer ability.
i bought mario but it is pretty hard to control. mario there was more expensive for 32.99 (online showed 179.99 for the combo, but that is online ONLY). it should be 29.99 like toys n joys, but the system at toys n joys was supposed to be way more expensive according to their site.
so far, i think the mario multiplayer game is one hwere you run around and hit eachother trying to get stars and find the exit or something. sorry, i never read the manual yet.
the backlight is way nicer than the SP.
battery i think is the exact same as the SP since the charger's specs are exactly the same.
game cartridge is a touch bigger than a panasonic type SD card, so waaaaay smaller than a SP cartridge. on the console, it has 2 slots so you can actually have 2 gaes in it at once and you can choose which to play.
it feels like a real game system when you first turn it on and gotta enter in the date/time/language/fav color/login(nickname for connectivity).

The DS is way cool... and the range on the wireless is pretty amazing... I was chatting with my friend who was working at GameStop and I was about 50 feet away in Fun Factory... thru a thick wall and a bunch of video games...
Metroid is way badass... I can't wait to play it multiplayer!
