How do you like Nextel? I'm very interested in getting it but since I'm so used to TDMA and GSM I dont' know how Nextel is like. How is the reception around the island? Direct connect, free incoming, etc etc appeals to me heavily but I would like to know if there are any cons to getting Nextel.
And where would you get the service/phone at? Only one I know really is the one near the airport.

i been with nextel for the past 3 years and been through every provider before the two is awesome and so is unlimited incoming calls price is a bet high but i would never leave nextel. They got what i think the best coverage on the islands.

Nextel's 2-way REALLY sucks compared to the way it used to be. I get at least 1 break in usage every conversation on the 2-way. It used to be FLAWLESS - now it's frustrating.
I'm switching as soon as that "keep your phone # when you change cell. service providers" bill gets passed...

I heard the Verizon 2-way has a bit of a delay. Truth be told the "novelty" of the 2-way has worn off a bit.
My partner and I really relied on it when we did a lot of cabling (warehouse, space frame, etc.) but now it's easier just to use the phone...

I believe nextel has the weakest coverage of the major providers here in hawaii. We use nextel for work but all of our personal phones get better reception....except for sprint once and a while
i thought that "keep your own #" thing already passed ???
i'm looking to change phones, too (from Sprint).... not that they're extremely terrible... ur average dropped calls... but my minutes plan sucks...
any comments on T-Mobile &/or their 1000 minutes plan ??

ehh, just talk to Sprint about cancelling and they will give you a Bunch of good offers!
and if you have a dropped call, you just call this 800 number and tell "Claire", "dropped call", ... and for each one of those, you get some amount of .$$ per call.
I've been with Sprint for a loong time, and my service is pretty damn good, besides the calls dropping if I'm on the phone for a while. But I get service everywhere, and it is Clear.
