First of all, super-duper congrats to Wes.
12.6 at 105. Whew!!! Smokin'.
13.2 x 3. 100mph x 2, 101 x 1.
Why don't I feel like I've accomplished anything?
Mainly drove through knock all night long; even on the 13.2 runs.
Good note, finally getting the boost up there. 18-19 lbs peak. Bad news, Jon pulled 3 codes off of my car. One was for Turbo Wastegate Solenoid something or other. Funny, seemed to hold boost pretty good. Bad news, soon after he pulled it, I'm driving home up Kunia rd. Looking at my boost gauge it says about 19 lbs. (I think I cracked the code so that my gauge is pretty close to my MAP sensor readings). Anyhow, started to do a pull (and pull nicely she does) Got boost cut!!! Checked the logs. No sign of knock. No higher than 19 lbs. What the ****? Now, because of the boost cut misfire thingy that it does, I think I might have blown the gasket on my uppipe. I say might because I have no idea. Sean said I might have had a small one before. I guess I'll drive it a little more to see if it sticks around.
At least I've got a new time and trap and CEL to show for my night of 13 runs.

I overboosted for the first time right after I got Jayson's ABC many months ago (it wide open). The 2nd time was two weeks ago In this thread, and then the last time I did it was last night after the codes had been cleared. I swear I didn't go over 19lbs. When it bucked me, I was near the end of a 3rd gear pull going up Kunia rd., so I was tapering down to about 17.3 or so, then it happened.
well that's definitely a time you're going to encounter that problem, ... a long pull through a higher gear (3,4,5) under full boost, going up a hill (under higher load).
I used to tap boost cut going up H2 sometimes, ... sometimes I'd just leave my boost controller set where it was, and sometimes I'd just turn it down a nat's hair, and then see if it was enough.
As I said, sometimes I'd leave it set where it was and try again (to hit boost cut), but it wouldn't, probably due to all the variables, like air temp, etc, etc.
If you're not getting the code all the time, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Congrats to all who ran last night, particularly to Wes and Pat. Sorry I couldn't make it. I hadn't seen my wife all week.
Pat: Before you start running an IC sprayer, keep working with your current setup. Play around with it. I put a whole bunch of crap on my car in quick succession and I never got the pleasure of playing with each stage and seeing the differences. I kind of wish I had waited, but this is just my opinion. I also know what it's like to want to try to put new and cool stuff on your car.
Wes: You have crazy fast times and speed. LOOK AT THAT 60'!!!!! I dub thee "The Launch Master".
I won't be able to make it out to HRP for probably two weeks. My new work schedule is noon-8pm Tues-Saturday. This means even less time to be with the wife, so going to the track immediately after work on Friday would be a BAD THING. I love my car, but I love my wife more. Keep going faster, and I'll see you all at SCCA.

See, this is why I'm so frustrated. If 60' is supposed to be so important then why am I 6/10's off of Wesley? If it's due to a larger intercooler, I've got a PWR I got off of Ebay ($600, hopefully in this week). I think it's what we call in the Army "Operator Headspace & Timing". Can't break the code of the UTEC. I'm with Richard in that the fighting going on between the ECU and the UTEC are slowing me down. My logs show where the ECU wants to run less than 10 degrees BTDC but I'm telling the engine to fire at more than 25 degrees in the higher rpms. Blah, blah, blah.

Wow, .... looks like that new launch pad is working out pretty good!
IMO, ..... ,and only my opinion, I think the UTEC sucks, ... any piggy back for that matter. That's just my opinion from my personal experiences, and reading about you guys and others. Maybe with the unichip, since the variables aren't constantly changing, the benefits are gained over time with the ecu? I dunno, pure speculation.
screw technology, how about we build an old muscle car with carbs and ........ no wait, ..... screw carbs ....... I'll take the technology crap.

I can't argue with that at all. My only reservation is that I know that I'm doing something wrong. It feels like I'm in the far arctic, a bazillion miles away from TXS and any advice I get is few and far between. I leach off of Richard. Since I've had the UTEC, I've called them twice. On the other hand, I've had the opportunity to read many email exchanges between him and Phil at TXS.
I've yet to put the O2 bung in. Tomorrow I'm gonna talk Dan into helping me take off the DP, and if no exhaust places are open, I'm off Monday. I'll try then.
I've got coming, a PWR i/c, a g tech pro/competition, and a little bit cooler thermostat - and I'm gonna put in some water wetter. (I've also got the morettes coming as well) DON'T NOBODY TELL ON ME OR I'M THROUGH!
As soon as I get the bung and the G tech, I'll be in the gulch as much as I can before next weekend.

Hey, also...OT. Palaban was telling me about the safety check 'hook-up'. Richie, could you explain to me where it is? Or anyone else.
