New BoV

Thanks to esx344dreams for the advice on installing my new BoV. I managed to dig out the stock one and put that flange on so my new 50/50 is working like a champ. My idle and performance seems way better, but we all know how reliable butt-dynos are.

Which one did you get?

What did you guys have to do? Not much to installing a bov...some like the SARD have a non-conventional install...curious.

hmmm....I see, you took the elbow portion off the stock bypass to install on yours...ya, I had to do that to my APS Dual Vent...are you running the GFB 50/50?

We've been over this a hundred times but on a stock to mildly modified car...a BOV will do nothing for performance.

It does make that fun pew-poosh-woosh sound though

I believe it does make a difference in performance, just my opinion...

Well if we had a 4 wheel dyno here we could do a comparison

True, we need an AWD dyno here. so we can fine tune our engine!

Yeah its the GFB 50/50 and yeah they do affect performance on MAF equipped cars, according to a few things I have been reading up on. For a MAF car its best to just recirc all of it, but I really cant help having the sound since I was turboless up until a year ago its not too noticable just kind of a relaxed "sissh" sound at higher boost pressure.

so how do you install a HKS SSQ BOV? WRX's seem to be really complicated. My last WRX had it installed already but this one just has a stock BOV, so please let me know what is needed to get my HKS back on.

i agree with bpang on the whole bov thing...if you're on stock boost with the stock turbo you're better off buying a rear sway bar.

But i do love the bov sound...

To the guys with the APS dual vent and the GFB hybrid, can we meet up sometime so I can check them out? I was contemplating b/w those two bovs but don't know which one to get. I'd like to hear them. Hit me up, thanks!
