alright let me break it down, i got pulled over at a sobriety checkpoint and the officer gave me a ticket because i failed to provide any recon paper work and he thought the spoiler was illegal and now i have to appear in court to prove its stock. the crappy thing is, because i bought the car last year and the guy i scored it from isnt working there anymore, i dont have the complete recon paperwork. plus, i have a used blitz axle-back on the car right now so i cant have the car safety inpected unless i take that off. and i cant go to recon because i got the exhaust used and didnt think i needed any 50-state legal document.
do i:
a. put on the stock exhaust to jus get it safety inpected, if so, gdogg i think i need your help or more specifically your tools and time..=)
b. see if any of you guys have a blitz paper i can borrow to get it safety inpected
c. hope to get any feedback at all =)

well for one if u have the owners manual for the car u can show that the wing is stock and u should be able to get recon i heard that u don't need papers anymore good luck tho
i tried, officer wanted to see recon paperwork, plus i only had the 04 manual because when i bought the car they said it was the first 05 on island(so i was told) and the manuals werent in yet. my car dealer got fired and i never got the 05 manual.=(

you don't need a recon sticker for exaust jon.
is your safety expired already? it should be a 2 year safety.
did the cop run your VIN number? i swear they can run your plates and VIN to prove that its an 05. i can't imagine the cops being THAT misinformed.

the thing is i need the recon paper work that i never got from the dealership when i bought the car. how do i go about getting a copy of my recon paperwork without having to recon it again. i got a citation for not having that paperwork (i thought recon was only with that sticker) and because of the spoiler. i think the cop was jus being a bad *** because i did have a manual to show him about the spoiler and he told me i had to get it removed.

you bought your car stock. it comes stock with that spoiler. there is no recon for stock cars.if its a safety sticker that you are missing- go see Branden at Ohana. he's the man to talk about this. get a brochure, go to court. show the judge. tell him/her that the cop made a mistake. tell them you missed work, school and that you want retribution---------

Just bring the brochure as gdogg said, but hell it's a pain in the a$$ and a waste of time. Sorry for that, but this happened to a couple people I know including an evo owner.

you shouldn't did a recon for stock wing and cat back...
important get the wrx brochure show the judge...tell judge recon dept. said you don't did a recon for cat back exhaust.

I had issues with a place that was inspecting my STI so Nino and Ed from Schuman went down to the place and told them my car was stock (spoiler) the palce also said I need new tires and Nino informed them the tires were good. There are enough STI's around here that the cop must be a dumbass not to know that the spoiler is stock. I agree just get a brochure and take it with you and put your stock exhaust on and get a safety. I also agree with Greg you don't need recon just for exhaust...I didn't. To fix my inspection problem I just had the former Schuman Subaru do my safety and I had exhaust..
I got pulled over for my exhaust for no recon. i was lucky not to get a ticket but just a warning. i took my car in to get recon and they said you don't need recon for exhaust systems and intake....
