Bridgestone RE-750
Picked these up from Dale...who moved to up to 245's...
Great treadwear, good in both wet and dry...very quiet...best tires I've used to date...this is for my daily driving...
had Falken ST-115's...inexpensive, but not long wearing like they should have been....
I'm running the re-750's on an 04 STI with 18x8 rims....225/40/18's
I also like the KDW2's...Just had my fenders rolled so my next set of tires will be either 245/35/18's or 255/35/18's...probably go with the KDW2's...

Potenza RE-750's are quiet? I had those on my celica and they were the noisiest tires I've ever had. By noise I mean squealing during the turns though. Maybe you mean the humming sound on the freeway. These tires squeal as if you were ripping a turn even though you're not. That said, the 750's aren't in the same class as the KDW2, Ecsta MX, or the RT-615.

I have the number 2 tire, which is number 1 IMHO as the Dunlop has so little mileage reported. I had the Michelin Pilot Sports which were excellent tires. The Goodyear is basically a race car rain tire. It's not as good as my R-compounds, but what is? The Goodyears have been excellent tires despite my aggressive driving and 3+ front 2+ rear camber. They are directional tires so you have to "flip" them for even edge wear (but only if you run high camber).

I had a set of the RE-750's on my STI and I thought they were a great overall tire for the moeny I would definitely buy another set had good dry traction and were good in the wet not sure how they'd do under some track abuse.
I am currently running the RE750 on my Sti. I am very happy with the tire on a day to day basis, no problems in the wet or dry and it corners well in spirited street driving. I had experienced premature cupping in the Yokohama AVS ES100 that I used to run, per Tirerack it was due to the design of the Yokohamas and that I try the RE750 as the design is not prone to cupping, so far so good.

I agree, you will only know if you try them all. That said, most of us can't, and the Goodyears have 11.5 million miles reported. Not sure about the KDWs, and I haven't tried them. One thing I know is that usually, the more reported miles a tire has, the lower it rates. As for the Yokohamas, I use them for my R-compounds (Advan 032R).

They are on my sti...I don't track my car but I do push it...grips nicely for me...works great in the wet (I live in Kaneohe/Kahaluu)...your opinion man...I don't know how you had your car setup...but my car handles very well and rarely if any does it squeal around hard corners...again, I don't track this car but if your celica squealed like you said it did around regular corners???
I've used the stock sti tires, Falken ST-115's, and now the RE-750's and out of the three, I prefer the RE-750's...I don't have anything against KDW's, I will probably go with those next...but for my daily driving through wet and dry as well as to eliminate the highway drone...my long lasting RE-750's will do me well...when these wear out...I'll probably go with 245/35/18's...The KDW's are definitely louder and rougher riding...
Pick your tires based on how you want to use the car...daily driving-this is me, and I stated it above?
I typically like to hear what people have to say about parts, but come on...how you came off on these tires was kind of strong especially basing it off a totally different car...Subies perform and handle much differently from a celica...believe me, I know...I owned a celica and although I liked it very much...will never come close to my sti...

I think that my next tires are gonna be 225 width Avon Tech M500 but I might have to get the M550 because of the snow that I get here in Ohio.
I might buy some stock rims for the winter though and just run the RE92s for the few months that we have snow.
