need recon
hey guys
i got busted today by a po-po...looks like i better consider getting recon....i've been told that HPD has started cracking down big time this summer on racers and modified cars....how many of you have recon or have tried getting recon?? my suspension is too low...are there any kinds of device that would lift my ride a little just so i can pass recon??...i was thinking since my rear suspension would never pass ( has like 3/4 inch play compared to the 2 inches required) that i can swap my stock rear suspension back on...get alignment....and recon....then swap it back.....everything else is okay except my ride height....my front just made it....thanx

See if you can get all the heavy crap out of your car, get some camber bolts, an alignment, then try agoin for recon, depending on who you get, you should be able to pass...
Good luck hugh

how do you know your car is too low?
Mine's not.
I know someone who'll hook you up with an alignment for 50bucks.
I have recon, I've been pulled over since I've changed my car and they didn't notice. It's all about doing the right changes.
If you don't know how to do it. YOu start at a place like EURO sport to get an afidavit of some sort. They do a cheesey inspection and sign off some info. Then send out the paper to the state. In about a week they get it back and you go to a recon station. IT's not that hard, just inconvenient. EUROSport will charge like 35 for their service and the fee is 25 or something for the final inspection.
As far as your ride height is concerned we can put those spring plugs in and hide them. They'll never see it if we do it right. All they really do is check your license plate hieght at least 12 inches above ground level.

does anyone know what kind of things they can hit you for that you may need a recon done for...when i bought my car from tim he had 17" rims on it and that a recon wasn't necessary, but when I got my base sticker the mp at the gate said you had to for any size wheel larger than stock...any insight guys???

Recon
I just went there yesterday they aren't that bad well at least the lady I had was cool the couple of things she found wrong I have them almost fixed with a couple hours of time. As far as ride height I am not sure what you mean there were about three cars includeing mine that were slammed and the only thing she said about it was that my front plate was too low it was at 10 3/4"so I made a bracket and now it is at 12 1/4". After going there I can see why people get pissed at them I think they were looking at things that should be a safety insp item. They said my intake was not secure enough you could not even move it so I cheated and just put the stock back in Yes as Shin said it's not right but that is the only thing I am cheating on but good look with them down there.... Thats what I think of recon.

Are you attending summer school at KCC? I may have seen you a few times, but I was late for class and couldn't stop to chat.
