Oooo... tought choice. Honestly, I'd go with brakes and Tires. That way you get grip and braking. The swaybar can go in later. I figure that once you learn to drive with the brakes and tires, then the swaybar can take it up a notch. DEFINITELY GET THE TIRES. Biggest single handling improvement I've gotten was with the tires.
If you get the first set up (stock tires) you are going to get very slick very quick on a hot track.
The single most important part of your braking system (as far as I'm concerned) is your tires. GET THE TIRES.
If you think your brakes can hold (depends on your driving ability/style) then get the tires/swaybar.
And I'm spent...

Some may argue (rightfully) that the suggestions I posted above are not AT ALL how I went about my handling mods. If I had to do it all again (and I could get the deals I got in the right order) I would have done it this way.
Anyway, right now I like my setup on the track. My Front Swaybar/endlinks keep me with enough understeer to make the car very controllable. I can already get my rear end a little crazy, and I need a LOT more experience before I start to remove my built-in training wheels (read: lots o understeer).

tires, ... on stock rims? The Kumho MX's are said to be good. Sean was running them on that camaro and he said they felt nice, ... Regi has them on his audi also. I ran with the 712's last track day, ... and lets just say I won't ever spend money on a set of those, just not worth it IMO. The MX's are just One option, ... the lesser $$ one that I thought of.
The rear sway bar set at 24mm will definitely change the attitude of the car. On my previously rex I had Dunlop W-10's, front and rear sway bars, anti-lift kit, and that's it for suspension, ... and with just that I could hang with no prob.
how much $$ do you have to spend anyhow?

1st I'd go tires, the best you can afford, period.
Then, Brake pads, SS lines and some good fluid & maybe some good rotors if you can afford them.
an den......suspension, power and looks.
Tires then brakes (both if you can afford right away)
then work on the suspension,
and then power.
You may want to look into Falken Azenis Sports if you want a good sticky tire for a small amount of money.

Just a note about getting pads and doing track day:
Be aware that you may jack your rotors. Dan has seen mine, I think you have, too. The wear on my rotors has neccesitated buying DBA Golds. Fortunately, they were only $225 shipped from MPJ. CHEEP! Hopefully they get here tomorrow (did not arrive today, nor did my other purchase) so we can get them on this weekend.

Hey Mario, going to piggy back on your help with setup thread instead of starting a new one.
Looking for advice on my first mods to my STi.
Currently thinking of Cobb's SS break lines:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/wrx/pr-brakelines-sti.html
and their sway bar kit
http://www.cobbtuning.com/wrx/pr-swaybar.html
Any advice about these? I.e. is there something out there that might be better for a newbie (me) to look into getting?

sorry for the hijack but while we are on the subject of better brakes...etc.
would the subaru 4 pots fit on the WRX with stock rims? for now that might be the way to go since I'm low on $$$
