Need help brakes and chatter tranny
Need help brakes and chatter tranny
I have 05 STI and I finally dropped my car with a set of Tein Flex struts. Now that I have dropped my car my breaks squeak only when I come to slow stop. I have taken my rims off and sprayed my roters with brake cleaner still loud and besides the squeak you can hear the the pads holding the roters when I come to a stop. My car has now about 7500 miles should I take it to Subaru? Also when I go up driveways my tranny chatters like the tires are trying to grab, like when you are just learning how to drive stand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i get that wierd rattle sometimes on my 05 as well, same thing, going up certain driveways. its dropped with springs but soon gonna throw on my stockers. cant quite really tell if its the tranny or what... my brakes only squeek on reverse braking. i think ive had that "pads grabbing the rotor sound" most of the time. hmmm wait maybe it was only after car washes, lol ill see tomorrow after i go for a drive. i was told brake noise is normal, "its the perfomance" lol. ill post here if i get any difference lifting the car up with the stock springs but i highly doubt it..

Car Info: 2004 Subaru STI/WRX Silver of course
If you guys are runing stock pads on your STI's you'll have squeaky brakes until you replace them with something else. Not sure what your talking about with the tranny. Buy some Project-Mu or Ferodo pads (m/s) your brake problem will be solved except after you wash the car that was one thing I disliked about the STI after you wash it and try to move the car it felt like the e-brake was still on but went away quickely.
