Need Advice
Hey Guys,
I have my ecutek reflashed for a bigger turbo, fmic, fuel rails, and PE injectors.
I've decided to go with PE's instead of Ultimate-Racing injectors, but the PE's are on backorder for at least two weeks. Is it safe to run my car with the mods without the injectors and fuel rails if I drive without boost? I just need to drive my car from Ewa to town.
Thanks

It depends how the Ecutek is mapped for open loop fuel control...
If it does work, it's not going to run well...
You'd probably be better off running your stock ecu with the stock injectors and the upgraded turbo...
Swap the Ecutek ECU in when you get the fuel system up...

Was it hard for you to install your injectors and do you need to remove the intake manifold and fuel rails to install the injectors?

Injector replacement isn't FUN - but I'd say it's no harder than an uppipe with the right tools... It takes significantly less time than doing an uppipe, but there are some "!@)(*##% !#@$( bolts" that you'll run into.
Make sure you have a ratcheting box wrench and you should be okay.
You DON'T have to take off hte manifold and you only have to lift the fuel rails up a bit to fit the new injectors.

Richard,
Thanks for the help!
Was it you that needed a new clutch? I think there is a handful of us that needs a clutch.
How about a group buy in the future.

I'm sure there must be some sort of open loop adjustment to compensate for the PE650's... I don't think that it would be wise to run a leaner map with more airflow and the same amount of fuel.

Yup - my clutch probably has less life left than I'd like.
Ed says that Speedgear is stocking ACT clutches for the WRX.
