Much Needed Advice ASAP!!

So i finished washing my car and decided to take it for a spin. Well after i was driving for approximately 5 minutes i happened to look over at my oil pressure gauge. It was reading over 140 psi. I have never seen my oil pressure go further than 125. After i stop and fill up on gas and head back home. I noticed i was still reading above 140 then when i shifted into fourth, the needle went down to 80 psi and stayed there for a few second and then went above 140. As i pull into my driveway, the needle was approximately near 150 psi, my gauge only goes to 140 psi. Then i parked my car and popped the hood, i looked at the gauge and it was reading 0. Any ideas as to what is going on? I check the dipstick and i have oil. No oil loss as far as i can tell. Waiting for the engine to cool off to better investigate.

The gauges are DEFI and i have not done any new mods, except change out my muffler and i'm pretty sure that shouldn't have anything to do with it. No new check engine light, still got the previous one.

well the electronic oil sending unit is in the engine bay. I would inspect it and make sure that the wires aren't damaged. Further I would make sure that you didn't get it wet when washing the car. Double check your connections to your Control Unit and if necessary unplug and replug the sensors back in to make sure you have a good connection.

that is an abnormal reading. What grade and type of oil do you use?

where is the ESU mounted so that it'll read your oil pressure? when was the last time you changed your oil?

crank case breather?

Could you post a picture if possible? The place that I have mine is on one of the test ports on the block. If you are looking at the front of the engine and look where the Intercooler Y pipe connect to the turbo it will be right below there. You should see a flat metal hex head plug. wait... are your gauges SI (International System of Units) or
Imperial Units (US version)

Jon

here is the location:

Here is what the plug looks like:

I think it may be the same location. Sounds similar, maybe i called it the wrong thing. sorry. can't see the pic's. how you bring them up? it's the us version. i just unplugged and replugged the connections, the psi was around 50 psi idling. i also checked the dipstick and i'm low on oil, near the bottom hole. figured it would read low with the pressure instead of high.

It's ok. At least you were able to resolve the issue.

Thank you and come again
