Is it the soap that leaves the film? I just picked one up last week and figured I'd give it a shot, but I'll just use my regular soap if the stuff that comes with it is junk. I was mainly looking for a way to get away from drying the car by hand since that takes the longest and removes wax.

Got one this weekend and tried it...works great!

Not a spot on my Black WRX...usually a race against the clock to dry it to prevent spotting...also about the film, I only noticed it on one quarter panel that dried before I got to spraying the soap off with the filtered water - the destructions that came with it say you have to wash off the soap before it dries (or else you get film I guess)...

I need to wax the car, so don't know if it'll strip wax off...I'm sure you can use regular soap and water to wash then just rinse with the filtered water, but supposedly there's something in the soap that creates the 'sheeting action' to prevent beading...so maybe it'll bead, maybe not...give it a shot...

I'm very happy with the system though...washed 2 cars in the time it used to take me to finish one...

i like to do it the old fashion way. yesterday i spent 2 1/2 hours washing and waxing my black wrx. stage 2 mothers to take off all the waterspots from the crap weather and stage 3 to get it to really shine. actually you only need to use one of the two but my gf was at work so i had some time.

I know two guys who used it. It worked ok. I wasn't too impressed with it. They had rain-x on their windows too and their windshield looked like ***.

For me, washing with quality soap and mit + california water blade >>>>>>>> mr. clean autodry
