How long should I hold out before going synthetic? Heard anywhere between 1k and 5k... have 1200 on the car now.

Why rush it? I went through the OEM oil, and 1 dino oil change interval before switching to synthetic. That was at about 6k.

mobil 1 from costco. it is something like $24 for 6 qts. i did the switch at 9K i think.
