messed up stuff

i went to pick up halo 2 for you guys this morning and i thought it would be nice to get my car detailed. so i took it over to midas touch cuz everyone says they're good. they told me it would take an hour and a half to 2 hours so i said ok and left. i come back 1 1/2 hours later and i has only been washed. they said it would take another 45 min to an hour to be done. so i said ok and waited. watched them do a **** poor job of waxing and waited. 2 hours and 45 min after i dropped it off it was done, well they said it was done. after myself asking for a rag and takeing off the rest of the wax( whole right rear from the gas cap all the way to the taillight and other smaller areas), i had to open all the doors to wipe the door sills, yes all of them b/c they were wet and still a little dirty. it is then that i noticed the 2, 3'' gashes in my drivers side rear door sill. i thought it was wax at first but when it didn't come off i looked closer. 2 gashes all the way through the paint. i was pissed. when i asked the guy if any of his guys had keys in their pockets or buttons on their shorts he said no and asked me why. i said b/c there are 2 gashes in my paint that weren't there b4. he looked and said the equivelent of bummer man and did nothing else. no sry bout that the wash is on us, no asking if anyone knew anything about it, just oh well. so very pissed i paid the guy and left. just wanted to vent a little. be carefull guys, i know for a fact that they weren't there when i dropped the car off b/c i cleaned out the backseat when i dropped it off. needless to say i'll be washing my own car from now on. i had a detailing business for 5 years- one of the reasons why i quit is because of liability like what you stated... my insurance premiums got too high- i had 2 incidents like yours... i made the mistake of not going over the car with the customer prior to detailing. i know for a fact that i didn't scratch the cars.. but oh well. sorry to hear of your car...

i never let anyone wash my car. . .ever. with the exception of my 3 year old- i'm training her early

Man why did you leave go back there and get that **** taken care of. Everyone recommended Midas touch to me, and they did a decent job, but left a ton of wax below the edge of the wing. My paint is so messed up anyway that I almost don't even care about it anymore.

sorry to hear about it... contact Joey at Midas touch and let him know about it. He's the boss so see what he can do.

Do you know the name of the guy that did the work?

i don't know any of their names but everyone was doing something. i guess b/c it took so long they were trying to rush and get it done. i don't really think there is anything i can do b/c the guy who was in charge(not joey) didn't seem like he cared at all, nor did he want to do anything about it. i don't know what good talking to joey will do since i don't know him personally and he probably doesn't care. i'm a lot more carefull with my car than hat and i know i didn't do it. hell i don't even use the backseat except to put stuff in. i guess i'll just have to leave it as a lesson learned and wash my own car from now on. well you don't have to know Joey personally. He's the Owner of the business on this island and is the right person to talk to. The guy that was there probably wasn't in charge and was probably just the guy doing the detailing. If you do bring it up to Joey he will probably do something about this since he has a good rep. to uphold.

I know that from my first experience with Midas it wasn't the best (subaru cruise) but the second time it was a better experience since I have DAVE doing the detailing himself. Unfortunately he from what I understand is on vacation or something... I would definately talk to Joey about this since it isn't right to damage a customers care and doing even give a **** about it. I'll call you later

justin so sorry to hear that. sorry i'd probably b*@t&$ slap that man and ask for an apoligy and have the detailing be on them, especially since they did a poor job (making you finish all their leftovers).
