maybe help?

Just installed my blitz ebc and everything feels wrong.ok i ran a T to the controller and stepping motor from manifold after throttle body and ran the out from stepping motor to wastegate. Now my boost gauge will only read up to 1/2 the boost even at full boost.also in 4 gear on the highway at 117 mph hit 18.9psi according to ebc display. Any advise would be useful thanks Will:confused:

can you take pics of what you're talking about?

did you "T" the line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator?

yellow03 rex 04-02-2003 04:00 PM

hose coming out of intake manifold used to go to wastegate T one to in on stepping motor and one to ebc controller

sorry, I had to. ;)

Seriously though, I have no idea what you just said.

I am pretty sure with all the Blitz ebc's, installation is the same, ... but what Blitz ebc do you have?

- The Blitz soleniod should be connected between the vacuum port on the turbo compressor housing, and the wastegate. I believe the "IN" port on the soleniod connects to the compressor, and the "OUT" port to the wastegate.
- The 'teflon hose' from the Blitz control unit should probably be "T"d into the vacuum hose going to the blow off valve. It is best to buy a "T" and some extra vacuum line to do this.
That is the spot where you'd want to read boost from, for a boost gauge.

You also need to make sure you 'cap' off the connection on the plastic intake pipe (which has a vacuum line running to the stock soleniod, which you don't need).
You should also connect a vacuum line, or cap off, the stock soleniod ports. Usually we just connect a vacuum hose to one port and then into the other, esentially inabling it to 'read' anything. Imagine in the pic below that the red line is a vacuum line, that's what you want to do.

cap off the port on intake ...

sorry for the old pics and Paint 'work' :p

thanks for the help.Just to clarify things i have the T to the teflon hose from right by the turbo inlet hose from intercooler. out goes directly to wastegate. So what you're saying is take out the T to the teflon hose and run it from the blowoff valve hose. And put a T between the wastegate and by the turbo inlet hose?By the way i already capped that hose out of intake off.

After reading the directions again, I think I'll go back to what I originally thought, ... I believe the "T"d vacuum line that goes to the controller box, should be "T"d in between the Fuel Pressure Regualtor and the manifold. (in pic below, I tried to point to where it should go, the little red line is supposed to be the vacuum line)

and the line from the wastegate should go to the "OUT" port on the soleniod.

and the line from the turbo compressor side should go to the "IN" port on the soleniod.

No 'T' anywhere off of the wastegate.

well ok

hey thanks i called Jon last night and he gave me a few tips.I got the solenoid connected right but the hose into the controller is still not reading correct.I have the line connected to the hose next to the hose next to tthe red wire on the alternator on the manifold:cool:

yellow03 rex 04-03-2003 03:13 PM

ok

now i have the controller hose hooked up to the line you told me to and still incorrect boost reading. What to do?:monkey:

Nolimit 04-03-2003 04:24 PM

Incorrect boost reading on what??

iNfEk 04-04-2003 12:26 AM

I took a look at his boost controller setup tonight and discovered that his controller (grey box that everything connects too) internally was not connected so he had a major boost leak! So I took that cover off reconnected everything swapped out some hoses with some hoses I had and everythings running smoothly now :D

Jon

Oh yeah.. He bought the boost controller from Farid so he didn't get everything. He had to supply his own hoses to install the EBC and they were the wrong sizes. I'm glad that I kept the left overs I had :D

yellow03 rex 04-04-2003 03:24 PM

yeah jon help alot and my hoses do suck and my boost controller sucked until we fixed piece of $h;t controller box. But car runs perfect now
