Maui I-Clubbers.
My buddy and I are trying to organize a get together. I'm starting to see more Suby's on Maui's roadways.
I'm trying to get a feel for the interest in such an event. BTW the Maui carshow "Showdown" is set for Sept. 22, 2007.

i'll try to make it... we'll see.. work has been a PITA lately.. it's good tho.. make that cheddar so I can start modding away like the rest of you folks..
off topic.. I test drove that blue wrx at acura.. I must say.. I was disappointed.. it had no action whatsoever.. I hear Ford's got an STi in.. maybe that thing will be a little more impressive. =)

I visited Maui a month ago
for my son's soccer tournament...stayed in Kihei...I passed the race park twice a day on our way into Kahului...never did get a chance to stop in...
I saw a Blue STI with exhaust several times while I was there near the Queen Kaahumanu mall?...didn't see many other suby's other than that one though...
Must be a nice place to cruise...wish I had my STI while I was there...

Good places for beer:
Maui Brewing Company - in Kahana, about 5 minutes away from kaanapali
Johnny's Burger Joint - Kaanapali
Moose's - Lahaina, Tuesday night is the best to go for drinks, I believe it is $1 - $2 drink night.
Tropica - @ the westin 3pm to 530pm, happy hour 50% off drinks
Local Grinds (food)
To me all the good local places to get food are in the Wailuku/Kahului area. There are a few on the westside.
Honokowai Okazuya - Just up the road from Kaanapali
Nagasako's - Lahaina, good place for a cheap breakfast
The Gazebo - Napili area, bout 7-10 minutes away from Kaanapali
Aloha Mixed plate - Lahaina area.
Here are some on the Eastside:
Sam Sato's - Only open for breakfast and lunch, great dry Mien (Wailuku)
Mill Yard snack shop - Hamburger steak is the bomb!!
Da Kitchen - Big portions, haven't eaten there in a while though.
If you go to the malls in Kahului there are some local restaurants there that are not too bad.
Wailuku/Kahului is about 45 minutes away from Kaanapali. Nice little drive to see where all the locals live.
Where you staying at in the Kaanapali area?

I am staying @ the Kaanapali beach hotel, my fiancé and I have stayed there for the past couple of years and love it! I wish I could reserve an impreza because I know some rental companies have them but they wont guarantee me one . I will definitely check out some spots you suggested and will check out the east side as well. Driving around isnt a problem.

I'm heading to Maui for a day trip on Monday.......What are some good things to do there? Initially I was gonna make the Hana drive......Is that a good idea, or should I just drive up Haleakala, and then have some of the day left over to do other things?
My flight comes in about 9:15am and leaves 8:30pm
Thanks in advance to the Maui I-clubbers
