D.,
Mahalo for letting me co-drive the ghost at the SCCA Solo event this past Sunday. It was fun to drive your car on a short, somewhat technical course.
I hope that my driver feedback will help you setup your car.
Remember...racing is really a process rather than just a result.

If I could have gotten clean runs in runs 2-4, I would have been 4/10ths off the RX8. I had a hard time putting the power down on corner exit in the ghost because of the understeer. If you can grab the throttle earlier on exit, then you can easily beat the RX8. In fact, I'm confident that you can actually beat him by over a second.
I wasn't actually trying to beat anyone. I just wanted to have some fun and get some seat time. BTW seat time is the single most important thing you can do to improve your driving skills.

Yes, Ed is the man. I believe he is at the top of SM on Maui in his own STi. Stephen is actually in a class by himself in STU, consistently three or so seconds faster than everyone else. It's been quite a process so far, I started racing in STU in my basically stock STi (cat-back exhaust w/front and rear strut bars) with a set of Prodrive springs being introduced to the car in February 2007. The latest addition in June of this year was a set of Cusco swaybars. For now, this is the set-up I am trying to get used to. Like Ed said, seat time is what will make me better plus a little more tweaking of the suspension. I wish that STU was a bigger class though, Stephen and I are the only ones remaining as the other competitors jumped to other classes. So if there are any other STis out there with no major engine modifications and running on street tires, come out to SCCA to race in STU...the more the merrier. See you Scoobie racers on July 22nd!!
