Both. I tried using the basemap and the car would start but start terribly and die within a couiple seconds. I tried using maps from a few other people and it actually ran worse. Then I tried just copying certain settings that are used for startup only, that got me a little further along. But still it ran like a V8 with a wicked cam.
I'm taking a break now and since I haven't eaten lunch.. I'm going to eat and get some brain food. Besides I've been craving some spicy poke or a plate lunch all afternoon. And the girl I get it from is cute too
Funny my buddy with a RS-T and a link had no problem taking someone elses map and starting his car. But I can't seem to find someone with a map with close/similar mods to me.

That is closed loop. It puts the O2 sensor in the ckt to help the engine run.

All that I'm hoping is that since someone that is a lot smarter than me now has a user tuneable computer, he'll figure all this stuff out for me.

Responded to your PM Tim. In a nut shell, yes you can but not at this moment until I'm more comfortable with this LINK.
Well I had a friend(RS_NW) walk me through a few things this morning and things are a bit better although the RPM's at idle ar jumping from 1000-1600 even though I have it set to 800RPM
But at least it's not stalling on me anymore. But it's still running pretty rich, I'm surprised I didn't pass out.
And Dom, no the Lamda Tuning option did not work... In fact the other people the other board said it's useless since it's using the narrowband sensor. If anything it may be good for highway driving.

Giving up on the LINK for now. I just killed a set of plugs and I need to get to work tomorrow. The car really runs like crap now with even the OE computer back in place. Off to change the plugs...
However, all the rough idle I have been experiencing and have not been able to get rid of could possibly be due to the plugs going bad from the extremely rich conditions the car was in during my inital starts with the car. I wouldn't be surprised if I killed an O2 sensor or even my hi-flo cat.

Mitch,
I know how frustrating learning a new system can be (remember the first Linux box you administered?) but just think of how intimately familiar with your WRX you're going to be after all is said and done.

Aloha,
Richard...
