Okay, I have the opportunity to buy an 08 Legacy GT. My reasoning is because I'm really interested in moving upmarket, and with the Leggy I can still stay in the Subaru family. I test drove it and everything, and honestly I was impressed. I think the Leggy is more comfortable, better looking inside and out, and the power is comparable to my WRX. But, it's an automatic, and I'm not 100% sure I'm ready to give up my manual (honestly though the 5spd slushbox with paddles wasnt bad, and with traffic now days...).

But I'm not totally convinced I'm ready to give up my WRX. Legacy owners, is there a huge difference between the two? Everyone else, opinions? Convince me not to give my WRX up, because I'm really tempted!

 

Spoken from a WRX owner...buy the Leggy GT. Nice interior (for a Suby) and overall better car. IMO all around great cars. I'd trade mine for a Leggy in a heart beat.

 

I had an '05 Wagon, loved it. I have an '05 LGT limited, love it. The Impreza was more fun to toss around but the Legacy will hold it's own and is a blast to drive. You will not get any ish while driving the Legacy either. You can get a Legacy in a 5spd. Mine is.

I've driven the Legacy and owned a WRX and there's no comparison. If I had to do it all over again, I'd scoop up the Legacy in a heart beat. You'll gain more room, more comfort and features, and an overall much classier ride but still maintain sleeper like power and performance. The only thing you would lose a little of would be performance, but judging by your last thread, that's not even an issue right? Doooooo iiiiiiiittttttttttttttt! Plus, WRX's are so common these days. Other than a small handful, the Leggy's are pretty rare.

I had a 05 lgt, now an 06 wrx wagon.

I say get the lgt! Ahah I loved my lgt but due to unfortunate ecu problems I was forced to give it up. Would have got another lgt but the price flew up in 06, and didn't like how the wagon didn't come in a stick for 06, or I would have gotten that. Wrx is fun and can be tossed around as another member stated, but so can the lgt. But the lgt is alot more of a "grown up" car. Queiter, roomier, and looks awesome.

After owning/driving both cars I would go back to an lgt for sure.

 

I can't compare as my lgt is the only suby I've ever owned. I don't regret my decision one bit and love the fact, as brandon pointed out, that there aren't very many lgt's on hawaii's roads.

From what I've read its a totally different picture in japan though.

Speaking of lgt's, I saw a nice silver wagon on H1 in town this past weekend. Looked like it had bbs wheels and exhaust.

 

I went from a WRX to a LGT as well, like Ipozestu said the WRX is definitely more tossable. The LGT though is much nicer, stealth, more comfortable and is plenty fast...

LGT all the way. I was in your shoes too, trying to decide between the 09 WRX and 08 LGT (Both very similarly priced). Ended up with the WRX cuz of 5-speed and Hatchback space.
