FINNISH YOUR FRICKEN BREAK IN!!!! at the bare minimum wait till 1k and do a synthetic oil change b4 even thinking about going to the track. don't mean to rag on you but it really is important to know what your doing b4 you go out and do it. hope next time your fully prepared and broken in...might just help your times a bit and save your car. The issue is that i honestly think you need to go get yourself a set of new rings.
Notice i say "think" the only way you'll really know is in about 20-30,000 miles. But hey if your going to do it get some pistons and new rings and all the supporting mods for a other than VF series turbo and enjoy your cars new long life. (if tuned properly)

OOOOOOOOOOOH GOD!!!
this is an equation for DISASTER (SP?)
first of all if you bought an 05 STI you should already know what you have (hopefully).
secondly I sure hope that if you spent that much money on the car you read your owners manual at least once cover to cover (I know that I read my WRX owners manaul about 6 times).
thirdly the break in period is ver VERY important for the life of the engine and the performance of an engine. Break in on an STI (at least this is what I did and others did for their STI's) if I'm not mistaken is about 1500miles not taking the engine past 4000RPM in EVERY GEAR! Other people go through the RPM band which is ok to but you don't want to beat on the engine before you hit 4K.
You will not know what you have done until you've got some mileage on the car.
