The KR has landed!!!!
Yep, King of the Road. But apparently, this car is the king of the garage since it can't be raced on the road.
As far as wanting to race it; you should probably come out to auto-x so you can at least learn to race and stand a chance.
IMO, this car is about 2 years late to the party. The next gen Mustang is just around the corner.
btw, the Mustang in the Knight Rider tv series is coincidentally a KR.

I don't really see it being late as these last stangs will more than likely be the last cars with the branded shelby name...thus for gearheads and collectors making them collectibles...
Though its the idiots who buys the hertz shelby thinking they have a real shelby when the real muscle car is the gt500

Unfortunately, the Hertz Shelby GT will be a collector simply due to the fact that you have to go to great lengths (auction) to obtain one. Ford releases various 'limited' production Mustangs (Bullitt, Mach1, etc) but the Hertz Shelby GT has and always had a quirky history.
The GT500KR looks like it is a real beast but for $80k, I'd much rather get a Z06 or GTR.
As far as people jizzing in their pants... perhaps you get excited too easily.

sorry...i just dont really like or care for the hertz...guess thats my personality...its like saying heres a limited wrx made in short numbers with widebody kits....but heres an abundunt of Sti's with way more performance...or lets make a limited numbers of 2.3L mustangs when theres the 5L
on a side note comparing Roush's top dog the P-51 to the KR....the P-51 looked really nice in appearance, gotta get rid of that ugly fake scoop on the top.... the black chrome rims, sticky tires, laser deterrent system, suspension and not to mention the 6 piston calipers really got me going. It was really nice that they hopped up the internals to support the 510 hp...
the question will be who has the money to quander on toys like these during these economical times...
