I got a ticket today in the morning for no recon for carbon hood and
MENACE TO THE PUBLIC!.... WTF!.....
First off I spotted the white Dodge Charger merging in front of me going east so I kept my distance, then I lost sight of him taking a right on the Punahou off ramp and this is like 15 cars ahead. so I take that Punahou right lane to exist and took the deep right turn cause it was a green light and the second stop light he comes right behind me 3-5 seconds after im on a stand still and pulls me over.
All im wondering is how can you put down pace when he was no where near me on the off ramp and the second stop after 3-5 seconds later.
This ticket is a JOKE and cops like him should be taken OFF the force.
The ticket has 50 on a 25 zone for the off ramp. Ok like I said I never see the Charger anywhere near me on the whole off ramp so...
HOW CAN THE TICKET SAY I WAS GOING 50 ON A 25 AND BE PACING ME WHEN IT WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER ON THE LEFT OF ME WITH THE CONCRETE WALL TO THE RIGHT AND NO ONE BEHIND OR IN FRONT OF ME FOR THE WHOLE OFF RAMP SECTION!!!
My co worker told me to fight it and thats what I will do.
idk whats your guys word on this... pluse I admit going 30-35 on that turn but 50 on that turn you would hear my tires skreeching.

 

also he said I dont want to see my car around that district. WTF thats wrong... and its not like I take every turn fast sheezee.

Dam, GL with contesting your ticket bro....I can feel your pain. I recently fought a speeding ticket last month, fortunately I won. So don't give up, fight the power!!! there always a chance...

 

if your CF hood does not have sprayers than that is an issue.
If it does print out the recon info & take a picture of your hood to prove it is OK.
IDK anything about menace to the public but is sounds subjective which means it is based on the cops information
If he/she is a bad cop they will have a reputation and the judge should rule accordingly.

I know this sounds silly but diagrams/maps work. Also clearly point out the time of the day and take photos of that traffic spot during that time to prove there was no way you were doing 50.

The judge will take you as seriously as you take yourself so be polite and put together.
and if your Cf hood does not spray holes you are allowed to mod it yourself to fix that. Just make sure you have pictures.

Also, make sure you do not say anything like "this is a Joke" "this is not fair" "he/she is a bad cop" those type of things flip a switch in the judges head.

 

You know the cops must choose a court day that they know they won't go to and use it to give B.S. tickets to people that they so choose to harrass.

I mean I can understand the tickets for speeding straight up when they hit you with a laser or they see you drifting in a school zone but some of these ones are just messed up.

maybe because I was down shifting to reduce speed the officer was thinking I was gassing it when my rpm was going up? thats what I was doing when taking that turn I was at 4th then 3rd when I was taking the right on the off ramp.

I got out of speeding tickets in Colorado by asking the officer to see the speed gun and prove to me my speed. Do it respectfully though, cops get angry when you question their authority. In some counties it's law that they have to prove your speed, others it's not. Some counties don't require proof because unless you are felony speeding, it is not a jailable offense, so the cops get to abuse their authority however they want.

Also, if they won't show you the speed gun, ask if the gun was certified. In Colorado it's law that the gun has to have two tuning forks for accuracy or be certified as accurate every 6 months. I'm not sure how the other state's work but it may help.

Either way, show up and respectfully contest the ticket. Admit what you did, explain why you are contesting it very tactfully and logically, dress well, speak well, and you will hopefully be fine. I've admitted my faults in court being an idiot and doing 25+ over and walked away with deferred sentences. Hopefully all goes well.
