Smile Just Bought a Subaru a (SUBIE Newbie)

I just bought a STi. Now it won't start up right away. The check engine light is on along wit the cruise control light blinking. I know why the Cruise control light is blinkin I read the other forums. I'm not a stupid noobie. lol.

Now to Business.
I wanna make sure its straight.

For my first time taking it for a tune up should I just take it anywhere for a tune up or just go on ahead and take it to the Subaru Dealership for a tune up???

I drove the car for a week and I love it. I hope I’m not blind to see that it needs special attention because I think the turbo ended up overheating one time to. THIS IS A S.O.S. I just need a lil guidance.

THANK.

Your’s truly
blk dude driving an STi

Go take it to R&D or the former Vakamon...
They will hook you up straight and if you want to do any future work or mods..

Good Luck and welcome to I-Club...

ok before anyone can help you... you will NEED to provide more information about the car including but not limited to the mileage, modifications (big or small) how you drive it...etc. Was the car being driven hard when this happened?

FYI: the blinking cruise control light may NOT be a separate issue from the check engine light. The cruise control is probably disabled until you resolve the issue that is present for the CEL.

nope. I know it has something to do wit the Starter. Other STi Forums had this problem. its being fixed now. so oh well. Was their a recall for 2004 WRX STi's or something cause my best friends has a 2004 WRX and he mentioned a recall. I just wanna make sure the car run semi new. I sounds Great. it has a Custom exaust on it.

I was gonna take it to Firestone on Schofield. (yea im military) but i started thinking. I just bought the car why not take to the Subaru Dealer Ship and have them tune it up the Factory way. I know it might cost, but i might be worth it just this one time. What yall think????

oh yea im glad to be apart of a cool A$$ club now. BYE BYE MITSUBISHI LANCER OZ Rally HELLO STi.

agree with mr.infek. When it comes to trouble shooting our rides, anything is a factor. Jus pull the code for a more accurate idea. Oh and welcome to HIIC
