Wow to say the guy probably drove a Honda is beyond retarded to say, so if u drive anything but a Honda you're automatically a better person or a better driver? That's like someone stealing my car and I say "it probably was a black guy" smh

youre seriously offended by that? wow.
it is a true statement that you can grind gears in a honda tranny without worrying so much that it will blow up like a wrx. i drove and owned hondas before and grinded gears without blowing it up. if said a nissan or infiniti would you still have gotten offended? i drove and owned a g35 grind gears and nothing blows up. sheeesh. what i was trying to prove is that maybe the guy didnt know how soft the gears are in a wrx.

i seriously believe this car went in there with underlying problems. trannys just dont blow. with that being said it is FOCK up that those jackasses took it on a joy ride.

A little advice to all, YOUR STUPID NOT TO load a valet map before turning over your car to any strangers...PERIOD...

I have personally loaded a valet map with a 3k redline and removed my boost controller. And have never had and issues with people taking my car for a joy ride.....as a matter of fact when I picked up my car from Matson recently I can hear the employees attempting to rev my car and hear the 3k redline kick in.....and all I did was have a giggle....

I wouldn't say I was offended, more along the lines I don't understand why people stereotype. I don't get offended very easily, I'm a pretty easy going guy. But like I said I jus think its a little sad that people stereotype. Not all Honda drivers are young dumb and reckless.

he probably didn't know because the gears aren't soft. you trying to tell me that every other car manufacturer has figured out a way to make their gears superman strong but subaru just decided not to bother? you obviously have no clue as to why the trans in some subaru's have problems in the first place so why just make the assumption he "tried to slam gears in the wrx"? what does this slamming of the gears entail exactly? can you please enlighten me oh master of all things with 4 wheels, i would really like to know. i mean if you have some super over my head metallurgy skill then teach me obi wan. if not then for the love of christ don't speak like you have a clue.

oh jeeze, enlighten you? im sorry to offend you as well. i am not an expert of some sort of subarus and hondas or anything actually. i just spoke out of witnessing. just because i say that its 'soft' doesnt mean im bashing on subarus engineering of wrx or 5 spd trannys, i was just stating i 'THINK' they have more of a tendancy to go compared to other 'vehicles'. if i am so wrong then please enlighten me and prove me otherwise master of all things that has a clue.

if you're no expert then why make statements like this? you deserve a wonka meme but i'm just too tired right now to make one - "oh you grind the gears in all your cars? tell me again how strong they are?" you think because some people don't know how to drive an AWD car and blow up the trans that makes them weak? fail logic - "i would never drive a yaris, those cars are terrible. i heard of like 100 people who wrecked their yaris straight into a wall while eating a cheeseburger, texting, and singing along with bieber so those cars must be crap." you see how little logical sense you make? the truth is you aren't an expert and regardless of what you 'THINK', when you say something here you have to be careful that what you say doesn't come back to bite you in the ***. the real reason you can dump the clutch in your honda from 7K and still be able to drive it to your special ed classes is because when you do it in a honda, or a g35, or a yaris you get something called wheelspin. see when you rev that v-tech to ludicrous speed and dump the clutch like paul walker you do what's commonly known as a burnout. when only 2 wheels are getting power, the parts in the drivetrain just need to be strong enough to overcome the static friction between the two wheels and the pavement. This is fairly easy for most cars and usually doesn't cause a problem. now take the same scenario but this time with an AWD car. the AWD car has to overcome a frictional force twice that of a 2 wheel drive car and thus requires twice the applied force to overcome the static friction and spin all 4 wheels. this extra force needed is what breaks the trans in an AWD car. the force needed to spin all 4 tires at the same time is greater than the gears of the transmission can handle in one sudden impact and it shatters the gears. if the tires don't spin then all that force you are generating (which would usually be accelerating your 3300lb car at a high rate of speed) is going to find the path of least resistance to be released. so you see it's not the trans that is soft, it's your comprehension of your car that is. the master has spoken, class dismissed.

^^^^^

let's not forget about the the case flex from the 02's. of course I don't expect many people to remember that one.

or may be we should start a new argument on why it's better to use a stock clutch or a stage 2, than to immediately go all out on a Stage 4.
