JDM RHD gauge cluster

i'm thinking about changing my gauge cluster to a jdm piece. for those who have done this, how do you get your safety check even though it's in kph? can i roll it back or forward to the converted mph?

Can't you just throw in your stock one for that?

"when some things are broke, don't just replace it, upgrade it!" hah!

It shouldn't matter. If your that worried you can make a sticker to go over the kph.

is it old or new? I can only use 93 to 96 model year mechanical clusters. otherwise my ecu won't jive with it.

okay, i finally found a '96 mechanical cluster on ebay with 12X,XXX miles on them. since my original cluster is broken, i tried rolling the miles back with a drill and square drive, and it seems to work. if i do the same on the one i'm getting, will it break it and not work if i install it?

^^^that's a good question. I would assume the JDM clusters for your year are mechanical as well. But I have a JDM cluster and most people don't realize that it is kilometers not miles, SOOO if you have near the same Kilo as you do miles, technically you should be good in theory of course. I've had no problem with inspection on my V7 cluster.

you can use a newer one youd just have to wire it up and get an electronic vss instead of cable
