Island questions
Me and a friend are thinking about moving to Hawaii for 6months to a year.
Anyone have suggestions as to where?
We obviously don't want to stay anywhere close to tourists and stuff.
We are from chicago by the way.

What are you planning on doing?
There are lots of choices...if you want to live near civilization but want to be secluded to a point...move out to the north shore on Oahu...surfer community...otherwise some of the neighboring islands are great for "seclusion" Kauai, Molokai, Maui, the Big Island...
You should just do some island hopping when you get here and check them out...

I think we want to be near civilazation... sort of.
Never surfed and don't plan on it.
Guess we just want somewhere to hang out and get a crappy job and semi-crappy apartment.
