Well, I flew in from the mainland last night, and I'm sad to be back. The only thing that really gives me any joy, here in Hawaii, is my Subaru.
A little encouragement for you military guys:
Every town I went through there was at least a couple of signs for "Support Our Troops" or "Liberate Iraq". I watch the news a lot, and read a lot on the internet, and you just don't here about the silent majority.
Well, the majority is silent. They are scattered across all the little towns, farms, and small cities that make up "the majority" of America.
At my little sister's graduation, everybody I talked to told me how proud they were of me, and of soldiers like me. I watched the football coach get all choked up.
People in Maerica really do care about the sacrifices the military members make, even if we're stuck in Hawaii, half a world away from any sort of "action".
Hold your heads high, and know that the overwhelming majority of the population of the U.S. backs you, cares about you, and is proud of what you do.
