No, not right yet. At least I know that Limit-Power is a good source, though.

George. $1500 after tax.

Oh, by the way. George says there are either 4 or 5 on the island. I can account for 3. There are some sleepers out there.

That is one of them , ... but there was one thread on there I was trying to find, it has specifics about the RS heads and WRX heads, ... and not as much speculation.

Don't worry. The added torque at low RPM's alone makes this mod worth it. I drove Chibby's car and I was like . I think you'll be happy.

Oh yeah, and Pat your welcome to use my house if you like. Be aware that I don't have a covered area right now though.

Pat, sorry I don't have the information I once had. My computer is down and all the research on the memory is gone.

Other than the computer at work, I don't have access to the internet. I'll try to go off memory.

I really don't know how much of a difference 8.6.1 vs. 8.2.1 of compression will make, but there will be a noticeable increase of torque with the 2.5 shortblock w/ 8.6.1 compression.

The USDM cams produce the most torque curve vs. all other JDM STi cams. It's relatively cheap compared to the JDM cams and much cheaper than the Jun cams.

Don't rush the install. If I were to do it over again, I would have installed the Jun 272 cams with the stage 2 option the first time around instead of having to remove the heads again. Sean can provide these cams.

For the stroke, bore, and sleeves:

The stroke on the USDm STi 2.5 is longer the the 2.5 RS. I wouldn't look for a longer stroke.

With a longer stroke, that means the rods are shorter on the USDM STi.

On Axis' 2.4, they used the USDM STi crank. They also used the Pauter rods and Crawford pistons. This means that there is an option for after market rods for the USDM STi.

This is what I had planned for the block:

Remain with the stock USDM 2.5 crank and stroke
Debore to 2.4 and sleeve with Darton's
Crawford pistons (same spec on Axis 2.4)

Thanks Chris, Ryan, and Sean.

I'm thinking right now, I need a head gasket and then I'm fine for just dropping it in. Later is when I'm going to have to be boned up on all of the specs.

I think you can get the USDM STi cams for about 150 something each from Subaru?? but I'm not sure, That'd be a good question for George, .... along with the valvetrain stuff.

You going to do the injector mod yourself Pat?? Or would you like me to do it?? Let me know so I can fit it in my busy a$$ schedule!

The USDM cams are nice, but they are still an oem part. All WRX/STi cams JDM/USDM generally have a similar amount of lift.

I believe the USDM STi cams can't be used to its fullest without avcs (which the WRX doesn't have). This is the reason why I opted to go with Jun cams. More lift and duration.

The Jun stage 2 comes with single springs, titanium retainers, and keepers. 9k revs probably won't be achieved with single springs (more like 8k to 8.5k rpm). IMHO I don't think the USDM 2.5 should be reving beyond 8.5k rpm.

Busy next weekend? Maybe after the AutoX?
