1) We aren't pushing each other anymore.

2) Becaues a lot of people lost the "drive".

3) We used to be so happy with taking off 2 tenths or getting a good auto-x time.

4) We used to meet up more "just" to BS.

5) We used to have a good group of people that really cared about "grassroots" motorsports.

6) We would all go to the track to watch one person take a tenth off their 1320 then talk about how we were going to get the next tenth off.

The best thing about this group was we all used to try different set ups and "feed" off each other. As a whole I bet the HIIC knew more about the Impreza than any other group in the US.

I'm done, but one last thing............................I haven't given up yet.

I miss those days, too. I totally understand the money thing.

One thing, more. Despite everybody agreeing that HRP leaves a LOT to be desired, you guys need to realize that you have a treasure there. As far as drag racing goes. It is cheap (even at $10 a night), it's not too crowded (except during the summer on Fridays) and it is nearby. If I want to do that, I have to drive 90 miles up to Bandimere and pay $15 and wait in line for maybe one or two passes.

I recall that when it got late in Hawaii I was able to do loops through the 1320 with only minutes of wait between passes until my clutch was a gooey circle.

Be thankful for what you have... and use it. Some of my best memories in Hawaii come from out at HRP in a giant throng of bugeyes just BS'ing for an hour or more between passes.

Oh yeah, if you think that Hawaii has some speed-sapping atmospheric/track conditions, try 6,000 ft.
